Coaching Principals

Teacher Training and Professional Development

Teachers must have a life of the mind so that they can in turn model habits of learning and inquiry to the children they serve. We foster teacher curiosity, growth, and development through monthly training in the Science of Learning, partnering with districts to support intentional scheduling for team shared planning and offering customized principal coaching and classroom observations.

Principal Coaching

Leadership can be lonely, and in an accountability-oriented education environment, principals of schools that serve 3- and 4-year-olds may not always get the professional learning and feedback that supports children in this unique developmental window of opportunity. We follow our teacher training with discrete look-fors and observation tools for principals and leadership teams to utilize in classrooms immediately following the adult learning event. Then, we have bi-weekly calls to support follow-through and set goals for improving EC teacher practice aligned with the Science of Early Learning.

Knowledge-Rich Curriculum Implementation

The essence of what it means to be educated is to know things both broadly and deeply. To ensure access to a world-expanding education for all of our children, we prepare Prekindergarten programs to focus curriculum implementation on the development of children’s knowledge through sequenced, cumulative, and content-conscious learning materials. We also take our principals and district leaders to visit demonstration sites to show what is possible in building knowledge-rich Early Childhood classrooms and schools.
