Aligning Early Childhood Programming to the Science of Early Learning

Improving early childhood education in Texas by developing teacher knowledge of how little humans learn best.

Providing professional development and coaching to Early Childhood (EC) practitioners to support:

  • Educator understanding of the limitations of working memory and the foundational importance of building knowledge and developing executive functions in the early grades

  • More effective EC classrooms grounded in the Science of Early Learning

  • Stronger kindergarten readiness

  • Greater retention of the EC workforce

  • A strengthened Texas EC community of practice

Partnering with Districts

Education happens within the context of a larger community. Our approach extends beyond the school to help ensure Early Childhood Program alignment with district priorities to ensure that the district vision for Early Childhood is grounded in the Science of Early Learning and borne out in the instructional practices offered through educator professional learning.

Offering Professional Development

We deliver Professional Development for Early Childhood Educators on the Science of Early Learning that includes practical teacher actions and leader look-fors. In 60-min sessions with Learner Deliverables or Classroom Look-fors that are coupled with onsite visits for observations and bi-weekly coaching calls with Principals/ICs, we help cultivate EC classrooms that are engaging, knowledge-rich, and optimize student attention.

Coaching Principals

Professional Learning is more likely to stick when situated in an ecosystem of supportive materials, observations, and coaching sessions. We follow our monthly professional development sessions with bi-weekly calls with principals and coaches and monthly observations to ensure that the teacher learnings translate into practice that reaches children.

“What students attend to is what they will learn about.”
